Expand your client base. The Lawyer Referral Service needs competent lawyers in all fields of law to satisfy the increasing demands of Bexar County residents for legal assistance. One of the many unique services offered by the San Antonio Bar Association is the Lawyer Referral Service. The Lawyer Referral Service has many objectives, one is to encourage lawyers to recognize the obligation to provide legal service to the general public. The service staff provides fast, efficient referrals to members of the service. All calls are first screened by the staff before a referral is made to an attorney. A referral is made to participating members of the Service on a rotation basis according to the following criteria: Area of law, geographical location, and language preference. The Lawyer Referral Service can provide a bridge between the public and the legal community by assisting persons who need legal questions answered but do not know where to turn for a lawyer.
SABA Lawyer Referral application
To become a member of the Lawyer Referral Service all members must:
- Be engaged in the private practice of law in good standing with the State Bar of Texas, and of Texas, and maintain a professional office in the San Antonio metropolitan area.
- Provide a professional liability policy with a minimum of $100,000/$300,000 of coverage
- Agree to terms of the Lawyer Referral Service rules of membership.
- Agree to the fee of $200, payable on August 1st of each year.
